Type of Certificate

Domain Validation (DV)

Domain Validated (DV) Certificate is the minimum level of SSL certificate for applicant to verify the owner of the domain. The validation goes by receiving an email that is sent to the WHOIS information or email addresses belonging to that domain to verify that applicant owns the rights to use the domain. This type of certificate is suitable for fast issuance, but lack of confidence level since almost anyone able to get a DV certificate issued.

Organization Validation (OV)

Organization Validated (OV) Certificates give an enhanced visibility on who is the owner of the site.
